This month, we are thrilled to honor Tekela, SYNERGY HomeCare’s caregiver of the month! As a dedicated mother and compassionate caregiver, Tekela has spent the last 15 years in the homecare industry, bringing a wealth of experience and heartfelt dedication to her role.
Tekela’s journey into caregiving began when she was just a child, inspired by the time she spent caring for her elderly aunts. Watching their needs and providing for them gave her a deep understanding of the importance of nurturing those who are vulnerable. This early experience sparked a lifelong passion for caring for others, and it’s a mission she’s carried with her throughout her career.
Known for her warmth, patience, and exceptional caregiving skills, Tekela goes above and beyond for her clients. Her ability to make each person feel valued and comfortable has made her an indispensable part of SYNERGY HomeCare’s team. Every morning Tekela’s goal is to make her client excited about their day. For example, Tekela and her clients are always trying to make each other laugh! Tekela makes sure she is a great companion for her client in whatever way they need-sometimes it just a comforting presence to watch TV with or a listening ear for the other family members. She is present and asks thoughtful questions to keep their relationship strong. Whether she’s assisting with daily tasks, offering companionship, or providing specialized care, Tekela approaches every task with compassion and a smile.
Tekela has been a blessing with SYNERGY HomeCare. When asked what she loves the most about working with Synergy, she said without a doubt the one on one time with the clients. In the past, Tekela worked in assisted living homes but prefers home-care and the relationship that is built between client and caregiver. She says her greatest reward is helping and meeting her clients. She truly loves to see her clients happy and full of life.
Her dedication extends beyond just physical care—Tekela understands the emotional and mental challenges that come with aging or illness. She takes the time to listen, offer encouragement, and build strong relationships with her clients, which brings comfort and stability to their lives. Recently a client remarked, “Im glad you came today, your spirit is so bright!”. Tekela is consistent and arrives to work the same person every day, full of positive uplifting energy that is a joy to be around.
After 15 years in the industry, Tekela remains as dedicated as ever. Tekela’s advice to aspiring caregivers is, “Make sure you are passionate and treat your clients like you would your own parents or grandparents-with respect and dignity”. She truly exemplifies the heart of caregiving, and SYNERGY HomeCare is proud to have her on the team. Congratulations, Tekela, on being caregiver of the month!
