About SYNERGY HomeCare of Northwest Chicago
SYNERGY HomeCare of Northwest Chicago is owned and operated by Jarrod and Tamara Barker, both experienced healthcare professionals with a deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, particularly in and around Chicago.
Together the duo and their team of caregivers serve residents of the northwest region of the city, including the communities of Avondale, Irving Park, North Park, North Center, Roscoe Village, Ravenswood, Jefferson Park, Lincoln Square, Albany Park, and Horner Park. Their services range from companion care and personal care, to specialized care for people living with chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
Tamara has worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years. After earning her nursing degree, she spent many years working in inner-city hospitals throughout Indianapolis and Chicago. Tamara’s mother was a homecare worker for nearly 40 years, passing on to her daughter her love and dedication to the field.
She is also a published children’s book author. In addition, she and Jarrod also run several food pantries in Chicago called Blessed By Barkers, which has helped the local community battle food insecurity since 2018.
Jarrod is a licensed medical doctor who also works as an assistant clinical professor in the local school of medicine. He also serves as the Director of EMS services at Vista Health. Jarrod has served on a number of boards and committees dedicated to elevating students with an interest in health and medicine and is also involved with the Chicago Fire Department.
The Barkers’ mantra is “there is always time to give,” which continues to guide them in operating their local SYNERGY HomeCare agency.
SYNERGY HomeCare of Northwest Chicago focuses on multiple types of in-home care. Caregivers can provide assistance with activities such as cooking, shopping, running errands, light housekeeping, or going for walks. Personal care support is also available, such as help with bathing, dressing, or using the toilet.
In addition to providing older people with assistance in maintaining their independence, the Barkers also provide childcare, backup care, and assistance to expecting families.
