SYNERGY HomeCare of Macomb-Grosse Pointe is owned by the Kaufman family, namely James and his daughter and son, Samantha and Zackary. Each of the Kaufmans decided to leave behind their previous successful careers to build a family legacy together after noticing the need for reliable local home care when looking for help for their own loved ones.
The Kaufmans and their team of caregivers assist residents of Macomb and Wayne counties, which includes the communities of Anchor Bay Harbor, Anchor Bay Shores, Chesterfield, Grosse Pointe, Harrison Township, Lake St Clair, Macomb, New Baltimore, Selfridge ANGB, Shelby Township, St Clair Shores, Utica and Waldenburg. They can assist with a range of services including companion care, personalized in-home assistance and specialized support for individuals managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
James, the primary owner and president of SYNERGY HomeCare of Macomb-Grosse Pointe has over 40 years of leadership experience across a variety of industries, including positions at start-up companies, global manufacturers, mobility transformation, and in franchising. Samantha, the VP of Business Development, is leaving behind a career that started in public accounting and then moved into outside sales and territory management. Samantha holds a BS degree in accounting and an MBA in business administration. Zackary, the agency’s VP of Operations, is an independent stock trader in foreign currency exchange markets, and also has outside sales experience working in the energy industry. When they weren’t focused on their full-time careers, Samantha and Zackary were also providing volunteer care to the older members of their community.
The Kaufmans became aware of the homecare industry when James’ parents and Samantha and Zackary’s grandparents started to need more help as they got older. When the Kaufmans looked for help from nearby home care providers, they noticed that not only were there few options to choose from. Shortly thereafter, the Kaufman trio decided to leave their previous careers behind to fill this need themselves and start a family legacy they could build together.
SYNERGY HomeCare of Macomb-Grosse Pointe provides a wide range of non-medical care options. Companion care includes assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, light housekeeping, and other tasks that allow clients to live independently. Personal care assists with bathing, dressing, using the toilet, and other activities of daily life.
