About SYNERGY HomeCare of Tualatin
SYNERGY HomeCare of Tualatin is owned and operated by Carolyne and Nickson Achienza, first-generation immigrants from Kenya. Carolyne has spent the last 15 years in the health care industry, and they both regularly give back to marginalized communities in their home country.
Carolyne received her master’s degree in health care management from the Oregon Health and Science University’s School of Medicine, which eventually led to her spending over a decade in leadership positions with nationally recognized health care organizations. In her managerial roles, Carolyne led her team in guiding innovation, operation, project management and employee training and development.
In addition to the time she spent in health care management, the Achienzas have also dedicated a significant amount of their time towards giving back to the underserved communities in and around the Portland area, as well as several villages in Kenya. Some of their efforts have included founding a non-profit international ministry, creating programs of sustainability for the community and planting churches, one of which is at the largest refugee camp in Africa.
As a couple that has already devoted a significant amount of time and energy to serving their communities, transitioning into ownership in the home care industry was a very natural decision. With the SYNERGY HomeCare business, they are now free to fully dedicate themselves to a career of service, which has been their natural calling throughout their adult life.
SYNERGY HomeCare of Tualatin’s motto is “I CARE.” Its service is individualized, compassionate, attentive, aware of each individual’s unique needs and empathetic towards the cause of improving quality of life.
The company provides a wide range of non-medical care options. Companion care includes assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, light housekeeping and other tasks that allow clients to live independently. Personal care services provide assistance with bathing, dressing, using the toilet and other activities of daily life.
The Achienzas’ ultimate vision is to assist clients in maintaining their independence and achieving the best quality of life possible from the comfort of their own homes or residents.
