The caffeine in coffee may also have some benefits. It can boost memory and concentration and lower fatigue. For senior who need some extra motivation to get to the gym, a cup of coffee in the morning can give you an energy boost. In addition, it may even help you to have a better workout as it helps the body burn fat and it increases the adrenaline in the blood.

Coffee Cons:

Many of the health benefits of coffee are seen when people drink about 1-4 cups a day. However, when seniors drink more than 4 cups a day, they may see some negative health effects. The caffeine in 4+ cups of coffee a day may be too much for seniors. Instead of giving you a healthy energy boost, too much caffeine can cause jitteriness, restlessness, nervousness, and even insomnia. When seniors drink coffee late in the evening, they may also may find that they have trouble sleeping. To remedy this problem, seniors can simply limit all of their coffee consumption to the morning or midday. 

The caffeine in coffee can also raise blood pressure, so those with high blood pressure already should take caution in drinking coffee.
