I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying, “When one door closes, another one opens.” I had heard it many times doris mitchell combsbefore I ever thought, “my door would close.”
Over 20 years in corporate America, I faced a layoff. With a bachelor’s degree in science and two masters in science, I hung on for two more years in the corporate world. Eventually, I realized that the corporate spirit that once drove my career had slowly dissipated to the point it was completely gone.
Talking about a turning point! With another door closed, my opportunity was to take the time to plan for my next adventure carefully. With much soul-searching, I recognized that one thing I am passionate about is helping others in need.
Since I have always been interested in helping those in need, especially seniors, I decided to invest in a non-medical home care agency to serve people of all ages in their homes.
Fast forward to today, and I am celebrating five years of serving the people of Northwest Atlanta and Conyers with SYNERGY HomeCare of NW Atlanta and of Conyers. I couldn’t have made it this far, helping so many people and their families, without a staff who shares my dedication and devotion to helping others in need with home care.
Today, I dedicate my time to helping seniors, serving new clients as a personal care assistant, provide support for relatives and friends while also volunteering as an ombudsman representative of personal care homes.
